Can I submit a missed appointment to my insurance?

The answer to this will partly depend on the type of insurance you have, and how flexible your payments are with your provider. Occasionally patients with a health spending account can submit any expense related to healthcare to their provider.

Missed appointments are labeled on your invoice as a missed appointment. It does not cite that a visit has happened, which is often necessary for an insurance provider to reimburse you.

We cannot adjust your missed appointment fee invoice to reflect a visit when a visit did not occur. This would be considered insurance fraud. Please do not ask staff to modify your invoice if you have missed an appointment.
