What is included in the fees of the Vaginal Health Clinic?
The fees for the Vaginal Health exam cover the exam itself, a small disposable equipment cost and the cost of your specimens and swabs.
The specimen costs can be broken down into a pap (cervical cytology) and bacterial swab. Most patients will require both assessments, which creates some minor savings as you only pay the lab one documentation fee for the two tests. The pricing for the tests are as follows:
- Pap test $19.12
- Bacterial swab $13.32
- Documentation/Lab fee $30.00
The documentation fee is added to the test fees for your total cost. Some extended health insurance of health spending accounts may cover the cost of your lab fees.
The equipment fee ($5.50) covers the disposable equipment that is required for your exam. We have multiple sizes of vaginal speculum and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure your exam is as comfortable as possible and provide us with the best results of your exam.
The professional fee to see the Doctor can be submitted to your extended insurance or can be submitted with your health expenses on your income tax. Your receipt will be itemized to show the professional service similar to your other Naturopathic appointments. Vaginal health exams are $100 for the appointment with the Naturopathic Doctor and include education about vaginal health, discussion regarding possible treatment options and prescriptions as required and indicated.
