Why do I need to leave my credit card number?
Your credit card is required to secure your appointment with your Naturopathic Doctor to confirm your commitment to the time with the practitioner. When we commit to working with a patient, we reserve 1-1 time with their doctor, secure the resources, staffing and space (or virtual platform) to see them. We also set aside time to manage their case, read their intake forms, develop their plan and communicate with their other health care practitioners.
When patients ask to be seen by a naturopathic doctor, they are asking for a significant amount of resources be reserved for their care. We are passionate about being able to offer this level of care, but also require patients to commit - by securing their credit card information.
A secured appointment means that both the patient and the office are equally committed, and secures payment for the appointment resources if patients do not show up, or cancel at short notice.
You will always be notified if your credit card is going to be used and receive an invoice for the transaction.
Examples of Credit Card Charges Include:
- To secure your appointment, pay for your appointment or be billed for a missed appointment with your Naturopathic Doctor.
- To pay for lab work, supplements or IV therapy at the office.
Credit cards are stored with the same level of security, privacy and compliance as your medical records at the office
The office policies that are signed by patients at the beginning of their relationship with the clinic are sufficient proof to provide to credit card companies if patients attempt to report us for charging their card fraudulently for missed appointments. In our experience, missed appointment fees cannot be overturned by reporting your card as being stolen by the office.
