What happens when I miss an appointment?

First off, we want to say that we understand how chaotic and unpredictable life can be. We understand that there will be moments in your relationship with us where you have turbulence in your life, that may cause you to miss an appointment or have to cancel without notice.

Our single greatest stress in our workplace is managing last minute cancellations. We have a policy in place to protect you and your doctor. Patients agree to the policy when they join the office, and often are grateful that we do not double book their appointments or disrespect their time.

However, it's very common that when patients miss an appointment, or have a circumstance that prevents them from attending that they get very angry at the office for having a cancellation policy, even when they have benefit from that policy in the past. Our office staff regularly faces bullying and threats over our policy, even when patients are well aware of them.

When you miss an appointment or cancel without notice (2-business days) you are responsible for the fee of the appointment you missed, regardless of the reason for the missed appointment.

What we suggest for patients who feel that their schedule is too volatile to commit to their appointment time is to wait until they are more confident that they can book an appointment without missing it or having to reschedule.

Of note: We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment, bullying or threats. These behaviours result in immediate dismissal of patients from our care.
